Cleanings and Regular Exams
Keeping your teeth for a lifetime is now a reality for most people. The benefits of having your own natural teeth are numerous, and it is important to take care of them. Having routine dental exams can help prevent problems and identify problems early on. This keeps dental procedures conservative and as small as possible, preserving tooth structure and often times making treatment more affordable. However, not everyone fits into the twice-a-year check-up routine and some people need more thorough cleanings or need to be seen more often.
Cosmetic Dentistry
A smile can be the most eye-catching feature of a face. With dentistry’s many advances, you no longer have to settle for stained, chipped, or misshapen teeth. You now have choices that can help you smile with confidence, and we can make you want to smile more. Even the most subtle change in your smile can make a dramatic difference in the way you look and feel about yourself. Cosmetic procedures improve both functional and esthetic concerns for each patient, ranging from a basic color correction to replacing missing teeth and everything in between.
Implant Dentistry
Dental implants are substitutes for the roots of missing teeth. Implants act as an anchor for a replacement tooth or a set of replacement teeth. Replacing missing teeth is important to your general health and to the health of your other teeth. Replacement of lost teeth with dental implants has been used for treating missing teeth for more than 50 years and is almost always the most effective and esthetic treatment choice. Implant treatment is very predictable and is almost always painless. For more information visit the AAID website.
Tooth Colored Composite Fillings
At Center Street Dental we place white dental fillings that include ceramic and plastic compounds which mimic the appearance of natural teeth. Our office uses the highest quality composite materials, ensuring long-lasting, attractive restorations. Tooth colored fillings are strongly bonded to tooth structure and provide good durability and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that need to withstand moderate chewing pressure. These fillings are placed directly into a prepared cavity in a single visit. This composite material can be used to close gaps in teeth, fill cavities, or even add some length to worn teeth.
Crowns
A crown is usually necessary to make your tooth stronger, improve its appearance, and it will restore the tooth to it’s ideal shape and size. Crowns cover and support a tooth with a large filling, they protect a weak tooth from breaking, or restore a tooth that’s already broken. Cosmetic crowns are a good way to cover teeth that are discolored or badly shaped. We use only the finest porcelain materials for crowns, and our crown work is done locally so that our patients get the best esthetic and functional result for each tooth. At Center Street Dental, we strive to make the experience of getting one crown or multiple crowns quick and painless.
Veneers
There’s no reason to put up with gaps in your teeth or with teeth that are stained, badly shaped or crooked. Today a veneer placed on top of your teeth can correct any imperfections and help you have a more confident, beautiful smile. Veneers are thin, custom-made white porcelain shells designed to cover and perfect the front side of your teeth. Veneers are often the most conservative and best option for anyone looking to make minor adjustments to the look and feel of their smile. Here at Center Street Dental, we look forward to educating our patients on the ways we can help you smile with confidence.
Tooth Whitening
Everybody loves a bright white smile, and at Center Street Dental we have a variety of products and procedures available to help you improve the look of yours. If you are interested in whiter teeth, start by speaking with your dentist. We can tell you whether whitening procedures in office or at home would be most effective for you. Whiteners may not correct all types of discoloration. We have helped hundreds of patients whiten teeth and we take great pride in making patients want to smile more.
Bridges
If you’re missing one or more teeth, you may notice a difference in chewing and speaking. Gaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a bad bite. Bridges help maintain the shape of your face, as well as alleviating the stress in your bite by replacing missing teeth. Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or two teeth may have been. Unlike a removable denture, which you can take out and clean, a fixed bridge can only be removed by a dentist. Bridges are also often used to replace several missing teeth using implants. Bridges can often be completed in two appointments, and at Center Street Dental we strive to make the replacement of teeth both quick and painless.
Complete Dentures
If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from periodontal disease, tooth decay or injury, complete dentures can replace your missing teeth and your smile. Replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag, making a person look older. Dentures are natural looking replacement teeth that are removable. Often times we use implants to help stabilize and retain dentures for our patients. Here at Center Street Dental, we have made many custom, individualized dentures, and we make sure that denture patients are always comfortable and never have to go without teeth during any healing period.
Root Canal Treatment
In the old days if you had a tooth with a diseased nerve, you’d probably lose that tooth. Today, with a special dental procedure called a root canal you have a safe and predictable option to save that tooth. Inside each tooth is the pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue causes pain and sometimes even dies. If you don’t remove it, your tooth gets infected and causes more pain. Infections not only damage your jawbones, but can be detrimental to your overall health. To relieve the pain and infection, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it from further problems. Often times you will need a crown over the tooth to help make it stronger after this procedure.
Bruxism Nightguard
Bruxism or tooth grinding occurs as we sleep and is caused by stress, anxiety, sleep disorders, or an abnormal bite. We can fit you with a night guard that will both protect your teeth, and position your jaws so that your facial and mastication muscles can relax at night. Severe grinding can shorten your front teeth, and lead to painful teeth that are more prone to fracture. Don’t make your teeth the brunt of your stress. Come see us at Center Street Dental and have a custom nightguard made that will help keep your teeth healthy and happy!
